Does your dream vacation include several nights spent in the wilds of Alaska with your own team of Alaskan Huskies? If so, our expeditions are the trips for you!

Learn to mush from accomplished Yukon Quest and Iditarod mushers and meet the canine athletes that compete in the 1000-mile races. Once you're comfortable on the runners, you'll have the opportunity to drive your own team of our elite racing huskies and mush through some of the most stunning scenery in Alaska. Keep your eyes peeled for caribou, moose, lynx, wolves, fox, and ptarmigan as you mush down the trail. At night, listen to stories from the Yukon Quest and Iditarod trails and maybe get a glimpse of the dancing Aurora Borealis!

Our trips are primarily located in the Alaska Range; however, we're open to exploring other parts of the state. Since dogs are the best way to access remote locations in winter. just let us know if you have a particular spot that you would like to explore!

· Mush your own team of racing Alaskan Huskies
· Camp

Be Prepared for Extreme Weather!

High winds, extreme cold, dense fog, blizzards, ice- Alaska is still very much a wild place. While we wish we could control the weather, all our trips are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Trip insurance is highly recommended. We will do everything in our power to keep the expeditions on schedule; however, safety for canines and humans is our FIRST priority.

For all expeditions, the Mushing Co-op provides parkas, sleeping bags, and other cold weather gear. All meals are included as well as transportation from Fairbanks to the start of the expedition and back to Fairbanks.

*Because the guides are competing in 1000-mile races like the Yukon Quest and Iditarod, expeditions are not available until after the race season.

It's a fine art to eat on the trail in Alaska when it's 40 below.  Trust us, it isn't easy.

So don't worry about packing your own food, leave your meals to us!  We serve freshly frozen meats, salmon, and local veggies. This often includes Alaskan smoked salmon and game meat from the current year's hunt (sheep, caribou, moose, and grouse).  The extreme temperatures demand a high calorie diet, which in turn keeps our taste buds very happy and leaves you warm and cozy! Don't worry, we also like to keep it healthy (a sprinkle of flax seeds, a handful of nuts & berries provide the body with natural energy!).

We understand that not every one has the freedom to eat as they wish--Tell us your dietary restricitons and we'll make sure you stay happy and content on the trail.

Enjoy the modern comforts of Arctic Oven tents, the Alaskan version of "glamping."

Just like any wildlife tour, the Northern Lights aren't on our payroll and thus we CAN'T GUARANTEE that they will make an appearance on the night of your booking (we wish we could). The best nights for viewing are on clear, cold nights. Overcast skies cover up the show, but tend to be warmer. Be patient and stay optimistic, you never know when they might show up! On some occasions, even the faintest light show can be caught on film and surprise you to what doesn't show up to the naked eye. Below are some links to research on the Auroras and the predicted forecast to help you plan your vacation. There are NO REFUNDS if the Northern Lights aren't visible and/or unable to be photographed.

Our main focus on our guided trips are authenticity and quality—we want to share our beautiful world with you and we want it to be fearlessly Alaskan! Cool down, clear your mind and breath in that fresh mountain air! Go places that people have only dreamt about and even fewer have ever seen. No light pollution, no smog, no rumble of passing cars—just you and the soothing rhythm of the dogs trot in the middle of the breathtakingly pristine wilderness. Challenge yourself against new elements and walk away from the expedition with a new quest for adventure.

We highly recommend Travel Insurance for your Mushing Excursion. This will ensure that weather or emergencies won't cost you your vacation.

Alaska is at the mercy of Mother Nature & she doesn't always cooperate.  Tours (specifically expeditions) can be postponed or cancelled due to inclement weather and unsafe conditions.  We apologize if this happens to your highly anticipated mushing vacation, but we want to make sure you get properly reimbursed for your inconvenience and receive a refund to re-book your tour! Travel insurance will provide that reimbursement.
