It started as a dream to live simply and sustainably, surrounded by wilderness, friends, and most importantly sled dogs.
With the purchase of a 40-acre parcel of forgotten land, our dream became reality.

Off-grid living isn't easy--No running water, no electricity, no cable television. But for a group of mushing fanatics and the help of sled dogs, mushing becomes not only our career, it's our lifestyle. We haul firewood to heat our homes, skid logs to build our cabins, and carry drinking water from the river with our sled dogs. Generating electricity running off generators, solar panels & battery banks.
We strive to live a sustainable lifestyle--We hunt, fish, and utilize every scrap of the animal's body that we harvest from the land. We live our life outdoors.
A GLIMPSE @ OUR DAILY LIFE...
Salmon hung in the fall, freeze dry over the winter and are fed to the dogs all summer long.
Salmon are either hung to dry and cut into small frozen trail snacks for the dogs, or cooked as a meal with rice in a cook pot.
Wildfires are very common in Alaska’s long hot summers. Fireweed isn’t the only thing that follows fire and Alaskans rush to burn sites the following year to hunt and gather tasty morels.
Alaska is known for our berries. Blueberries, low-bush & high-bush cranberries, crow berries, raspberries, cloud berries and salmon berries are amongst our favorites.
Ribs and hooves of ungulates make perfect chew toys for the dogs, once they are cooked down to eliminate any parasites. They also keep the dogs teeth clean and tartar free!
Most of our meat comes from moose, caribou, or Dall sheep rather than the grocery store. Hides we stretch and used to keep warm.
Nothing is wasted when it comes to the game we hunt. By boiling down the bones and cartilage, we make a great bone broth for the dogs water, enriched with numerous vitamins and minerals.
